Extraordinary times have placed extraordinary challenges into all of our paths.
From medical professionals on the COVID 19 frontlines to store clerks dealing with supply chain interruptions and parents at home with their kids, everyone’s comforting routines have been tossed aside and into uncharted waters.
If you sometimes feel overwhelmed, that’s okay. YOU ARE NOT ALONE in experiencing these emotions.
To support parents and their children, Voices Against Bullying is launching a Speakers Live Series, via Zoom. ( if you require any assistance in Zoom let us know !! )
These workshops will be live, free and be able to accommodate up to 100 guests. An invite code will be available soon for those wishing to join. We will have guest speakers that you will be able to engage with and ask questions etc.
After the live workshop, it will be posted on our Facebook page, Instagram and website for future views and further comments for anyone needing help. Trained professionals will address a variety of topics designed to help parents navigate the new normal, answer your questions and provide expert advice.
Voices Against Bullying Steering Team members Kathleen Hilchey and Julie Schaafsma will kick off the series this Friday, April 10 starting at 8pm going until 9pm.
Kathleen is a trained anti-bullying and harassment specialist with over 20 years of experience amassed through formal study, her work in education and recreation, and wisdom acquired through raising her own children.
Kathleen will address the topic “How to Handle Conflict in Families and Trauma Surrounding COVID-19.” She will use her conflict coaching skills to help you through family conflicts, specifically siblings, parent-child, and trauma felt by parents and children alike.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We are here to help parents and families face these uncertain times with knowledge and confidence.
Not able to join live but have specific questions for Kathleen? You can provide Kathleen with your questions ahead of time before the talk so she can speak more directly to your concerns.
Feel free to send these questions or talking points via PM to Julie Schaafsma, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org or feel free to comment them below!
I’m sure there will be some much needed laughs and some much needed support found
